For who? End users - vote with your feet. I've had native IPv6 with Internode for 10 years. There's a couple of other ISPs that support it, even Telstra mobile (I configured my wifi hotspot to get IPv6 addresses).

For BBSs? Modern software such as Mystic and Synchronet supports IPv6 out of the box. Just needs to be appropriately configured. VPS providers also seem to support IPv6 more and more.

    Hi Tony,

Yeah I was thinking more generally, not BBS related specifically, but yeah I too have had ipv6 for a while. Seems to me though that the WEB in particular are reluctant because they dont understand it. Always seems to be droping backk to ipv4. I guess people will never champion something they dont understand. -)

Is there a pressing need to speed it up? ;)

BTW: Are you aware of the IPV6 fidonet echomail area?

    Bye, Wilfred.

And IPv6 also has the problem that once properly setup, it "just works", and the end user doesn't notice any difference (which is my experience when using everyday things like web based apps). So the average person wouldn't be aware of IPv6, or why it's important. IKt's only us tech types who tend to care about such things. CGN is "good enough" for many people (sucks for us).

... BBSing is like sex...except not wanting to GET OFF!!!
