From xbit@1:103/705 to All on Mon Feb 15 10:19:43 2021
    Hello again team,

I used to have SyncChat working as a chat replacement. From the main menu [C]hat > [J]ump to chat > then SyncChat would start.

Still trying to dust off the cobwebs so I can't remember how I got this working. I think it was an edit to sbbs\exec\chat_sec.js perhaps? and then
run a spicific baja command to compile?

I'm on sbbs 3.16c now and will upgrade to the latest soon, but want to get things working before I move forward.

    Thanks all,

    xbit

The .js files don't need explicit compilation (and they don't use baja).

I don't recall, but maybe we had a chat_sec.src/bin file back then? In any case, from chat_sec.js, you would likely use bbs.exec_xtrn("syncchat") (or something similar) to execute SyncChat from within a key-handling "case" statement.
