    Hello All!

I have everything working, when I copied it to the server and logged in I noticed that it displays synch.ans (which I had deleted) doesnt disply my logon.ans (custom ansi) and non of the random.ans. They are all there in the correct place? is there something I should look at, I have checked permissions, etc everything is as it should be so not sure what happened.

    Regards,

    Rick

    Hello All!

synch.ans is only there for the web server (ftelnet splash screen). I think you're thinking of text/menu/logon.asc.

doesnt disply my logon.ans (custom ansi)

What directory did you put it in?

    and non of the random.ans.

What filename did you use and what directory?

They are all there in the correct place?

    Doesn't sound like it.

is there something I should look at, I have checked
permissions, etc everything is as it should be so not sure what happened.

Yeah, double-check the filenames and directories and what *other* file names are in those directories which may supercede the ones you created.

Dude. You *REALLY* need to try reading the Wiki instructions.

Even more amazing is that DM *TOLD* you, right up there above, where
your logon.asc file should be. Free clue: it is *NOT* /sbbs/text.

    Come on man.

You generally shouldn't copy your own stuff *into* the repo directory or any of its subdirectories. (Though there are some situations where it's okay.)

Is your /sbbs/text directory actually a symlink to /sbbs/repo/text? I would remove the symlink, copy /sbbs/repo/text to /sbbs/text, and then manage the contents by hand moving forward. This path is potentially home to lots of custom content; I wouldn't want git managing it for me.

Okay, that'd be wrong. logon.* is normally in your sbbs/text/menu directory.

    and non of the random.ans.

What filename did you use and what directory?

    in /sbbs/text
    random.ans
    random2.ans
    random3.ans
    random4.ans
    random5.ans

    Again, text/menu.

    Doesn't sound like it.

    here is ls /sbbs/text

    answer.msg banner2.msg email.can ip-silent.can newuser.msg random4.ans subject.can

    banner1.msg bullseye.cfg host.can menu random2.ans sbbslist.hlp xbit-add.ans
    banner2.ans doorparty.ans ip.can name.can random3.ans sbbs.msg zipmsg.txt

not sure what would supercede logon.ans or random.ans here?

Nothing. logon.* and random.* aren't pull from that directory.
    See https://wiki.synchro.net/custom:menu_files for details.
