I'm sure I missed something but it doesn't appear that newuser_signup.js is being used? I was playing with some modification and was trying to move New User Feedback to later in the log in process. Modifying the script didn't work so I removed it completely and was still able to go through the new user signup process. I was able to disable feedback by setting bbs.node_val_user to 0 at the beginning on login and set it back to 1 just before the new feedback process. There's an easier way, right? Based on it's description, it's just an integer that can be replaced with a hardcoded value, but that doesn't seem like the right way to do it either.

It's not used in a stock Synchronet install, no. Deuce created it as an experiment or proof of concept I think.

I'm not clear how that would help.

You could just leave it set to 0 (in SCFG->Nodes) and then force the user into a sysop feedback later via custom(ized) script.
