  • 320a_dev: Cannot login with "real name"

    A user alerted me that he was not able to login to the BBS using his real name. I have verified on my own account that "Nigel Reed" will not work for either telnet or ssh.I verified on Nightfox's bbs to ensure it wasn't anything to do with his login matrix that is interfering but I can login to his board using real name ok.Obviously alias is working and so is user number. I expect there's another issue from the user file conversion.

    This sounds like the issue that was resolved already in commit 03cf809a.If not, double-check SCFG->Nodes->Node X->Toggle Options->Allow Login by Real Name.

    FWIW, login by real name works fine on Vertrauen running the latest v320a_dev code.

    It seems the original problem was with Nightfox's DDLoginMatrix, however I'm still having the same issue with user #1 - Not a biggie since I don't login with my real name, but seems odd.     Login with real names over SSH has never been supported in Synchronet.

    If I log into my BBS with SSH, the SSH protocol itself requires a username and password, so my login matrix is bypassed entirely. I can't think of a way my login matrix would be interfering with SSH logins.
