• Synchronet Windows requirements and crashes

From Nightfox@1:103/705 to Digital Man on Fri Aug 6 13:53:16 2021
    Hi DM,

In the past couple weeks, I've been running a build of Synchronet that I built myself with debug symbols, monitored by Visual Studio, with hopes to identify where in the code it crashes, since I've seen Synchronet crash at random times on my system. However, the local builds I've been running don't seem to be crashing. With the official build that I'd download from Vertrauen, usually I'd see it crash at least once (or multiple times) within a week, but the local builds I've made will run a week without crashing.

I'm wondering if it's possible that having a slightly different version of the VS runtime than it was built with could cause any instability in Synchronet, or if there might be other requirements that may be slightly different on my system than what the Synchronet binaries are expecting.. That's just a guess though.

It's possible. Or just running it in a debugger changes the timing which stops the crashing?
