    Seriously though, while I don't have a use case right now for this program, I think it's very impressive, and could probably have numerous uses for people outside of BBSing that rely on legacy software.

    In fact, this lovely little toy is probably most of use to people not using synchronet bbs :P

    I am wondering though if it makes netserial (?) redundant.

    We are all very lucky to have people like Rob, Deuce etc, making this stuff for us to play with though. I bet if we hired someone to write a program like this it would cost a fortune. I guess it's the same being grateful to all opensource developers out there, but especially lucky in such a niche hobby (nowdays), to have qualified people building things.

    I suspect it might.

    netserial is feature rich, so there's some bbses that might still use it as well as companies.
