echicken is the developer of webv4. You should probably direct any ecwebv4 feature/change requests to him.

If this feature is not vailable I need to be able to do a extended information search by the keyword and list all the files on the screen at the same time?

You want to search the extended descriptions, but not display them?

Yes, that is correct.

I don't think users normally want that behavior, so it's not something supported natively in Synchronet. However, it would be
possible for you or any other sysop to write their own file searching/display mod (see exec/filelist.js for an example/starting
point).
Ok. For smaller systems that offer a smaller amount of files it's ok, but for the bbs systems that have a large amount of files its a toold that the sysop and users need to have.

as someone with a big file archive, (and you have mine) i'd have to say that it's not something i'd want. if i want to search
for
results in a description, i then want to see it shown to me. why wouldnt i?

Running a larger bbs with over 170,000 files it's a tool that makes it easer for the sysop to search and move files to the proper file areas.

you should be sorting and moving files before they are processed into your bbs file bases.
doing it via the bbs interface is slow and and time consuming.
what you want sounds like something only you want, so it's best to perhaps pay someone to write a script for you.

I wish it was that easy, but it's not. A lot of the files did not include a file description and the files where given to me.
