    They should be able to download via ftelnet using the YMODEM-G protocol (it supports only YMODEM-G).

    That does not work here. The result is "<filename> not downloaded!".

    You do have to start the download in fTelnet (e.g. client Menu->Download). YMODEM-G is not an auto-start protocol like ZMODEM.

    I had forgotten that. It seemed to reject it pretty fast, though. I will
    have to try it again and see if I can get the download started before it
    throws the error.

    Hmmm... there is no menu in my ftelnet window to choose Download from. Where are you seeing that? What browsers does that work with?

    I tried right-clicking in the ftelnet window in a Firefox session but the menu that came up didn't include any download choices... only choices about saving the image and a few other options you normally get when right-clicking in a web browser.

    It's available when using the legacy/runemaster Web UI or ecwebv4. There's likely an ftelnet option you can set to enable it or maybe you just need to upgrade ftelnet to a newer version which includes the download option.

    There is an option in modopts.ini, ftelnet_menubar=true that will enable a few things, this is one of them if I remember right.

    I tried this but never had success with it. If you do I'd like to hear about it.

    There's no ftelnet_menubar in modopts.ini

    Neither is there reference to it in the ftelnet.js file either.

    Anyway, menu only has Connect, Disconnect, Copy, Paste, Keyboard, and Full Screen. Nothing about downloading.

    It's available when using the legacy/runemaster Web UI or ecwebv4. There's lik
    y an ftelnet option you can set to enable it or maybe you just need to upgrade
    telnet to a newer version which includes the download option.

    I pointed mine to the webv4 directory and still got the same thing.

    I add the option for the toolbar to modopts, which turned the toolbar on
    but it still does not have a download option, and synchronet still aborts
    the transfer almost immediately... so if I did have one I doubt I would
    have a chance to select it.

    How do you upgrade the ftelnet used with synchronet?

    I checked the ..\webv4\lib\ftelnet.js. It has a function to pull the
    splash and appears to be looking for settings.ftelnet_splash which is in modopts.ini. It also has this section:

    function get_variant() {
    if (!settings) return 'norip.noxfer';
    return (settings.ftelnet_rip ? 'rip' : 'norip') + '.' +
    (settings.ftelnet_xfer ? 'xfer' : 'noxfer');
    }

    I tried adding ftelnet_xfer=true, ftelnet_xfer=xfer, and ftelnet_xfer to modopts but no dice. What is this function looking for?

    Also, is there a place where one can see what URL was built to make the
    ftelnet call? That is where the result of this function ultimately appears
    to go.
