probably lost the high water mark message... that's why, when doing message base stuffs, i always...

    1. turn off the mailer
    2. move legitimate outbound mail to a holding directory
    3. do the work
    4. run the tosser to scan out anything that it thinks needs to go
    5. delete those newly generated packets since they are likely regurge
    6. copy the valid mail from the holding directory back to the outbound
    7. and finally turning the mailer back on

somewhere between 4 and 5, i might run inspecta to look deep into a packet but most of the time i just use list... inspecta allows me to remove messages if i need to but i generally don't need to... also, at some point, once that legitimate mail is gone, i delete it out of the holding directory since i only copied it back over... i prefer to keep a copy a little longer just in case ;)

hehehe, yeah... i used to miss one or two, myself... the important ones are turning off the mailer and deleting newly generated packets after the work is done... but hey, we'll deal with it and move on :)

i remember what it took for me to get my groups stuff set up to keep folks from
having acces to areas that they should not have access to... i don't envy your or janis that task... especially if you guys have multiple othernets to deal with at the same time... it is almost as bad as allowing users access to areas on the BBS... gotta have a similar breakdown of groups and access security settings... oh well -=B-)

It's proving rather challenging - the software for it is not (to me) intuitive!!

have multiple othernets to deal with at the same time... it is

    Fortunately, I don't -- one is enough!!

almost as bad as allowing users access to areas on the BBS... gotta

Yeah, that problem was easier to solve but is no longer an issue!

I suspect I'll break something else over the weekend - I don't want you to be bored! :-)
