I am thinking of setting up a D'bridge/RA board and wondered what you guys were using to tie these 2 together. I have OS/2 4.52 running DB now from a command line. In the 90's I ran FrontDoor and RA from a batchfile. I would load FD and then when a BBS call came in FD would exit to an errorlevel and RA would load. Is that the prefered way to run DB and RA? I have tried loading RA from a batch file but the "modem" is too slow to connect properly using SIO. A lot of times it will show "ring" and never connect reliable. Also noticed that when it does connect that the up/down zmodem connections would error out. Anyone else here running OS/2?
    Thanks!

    Hi Doc,

It may just be you and me following this echo... lol
I can't remember, but I Think we have may spoken on FaceBook awhile ago...

I run RA and use D'Bridge as the mailer/tosser.
I use XP as the OS (just because it worksk and I had it laying around), have NetFoss as my fossil and Net2BBS as the actual telnet server.

Since all of the message nets I'm on transfer over BinkD, I run D'Bridge and Net2BBS telnet server (spawning my two RA nodes) simultaneously

I don't have D'Bridge call RA when a user connects. They are two seperate NTVDM processes. 3 when two nodes are in use... :)

    Hope that helps!

Be sure to check out Willow's awesome MAFRAG file / message area navigation door. Now freeware, up for download on my BBS. :)

Sounds like what I do here with OS/2. I have D'Bridge running in its own window, a window for a seperate binkd session, and a window for Maximus. I wanted to use RA for the BBS as that is what I ran in the old days but RA doesn't seem to like Vmodem very well. Most times the modem will show "ring" and never answer. Maximus on the other hand answers very quickly and reliable but in my old mind Max is "ugly" compared to RA. I will keep playing with it and may open a seperate window with FrontDoor to see if RA will respond correctly to it. I use the same modem init for Max as I do for RA. I use ATZ|
to init. I have also tried Lora BBS software and really liked the look and feel of it. It hass a build in mailer with the BBS and is very RA like in appearance. The problem with Lora is it is crippled without a key and I have scoured the echos and interweb looking for one. There is a "free" version of Lora on github but won;t compile for OS/2. I think Robert Wolf tried to compile it back some time ago and gave up. I have Syncronet and Mystic running on other machines so this OS/2 is just for fun. It is like a treasure hunt trying to find all the old software!
