    Hello Aaron,

Fox News has reported that the US Energy Dept (today Sunday) has "assessed"
that "covid-19 likely originated from a lab leak in China."

Bull fucking shit. The Wall Street Journal article reported there
were two theories the US Energy Dept noted - one that the coronavirus
began in the wild and had jumped from animal to human, and the other
that workers in a biological lab in Wuhan somehow accidentally got
infected with the coronavirus. No proof or evidence was found, as it
it is only a theory ...

That article mentioned that the FBI also shares that stance on the origin of
covid. (I didn't know that until now.)

There is also a theory the moon is made of cheese.

How far back in Fido history do we have to go to see leftists calling the lab leak theory "conspiracy theory?" Not far!

To the best of my knowledge Alex Jones has never been a participant
in any echo of Fidonet. But I could be wrong.

Calling it the only possibility is a conspiracy theory -- until

    that are most likely.

The truth is still that there is nothing to prove either origin for

The World Health Organization (WHO) has stated that covid originated

IOW: Low confidence doesn't mean that they're not confident in it being true.

I just posted some clips from an article, along with a link to it, but here
are some details regarding "low confidence assessments":

"A low confidence assessment generally means that the information obtained is not reliable enough or is too fragmented to make a more definitive analytic judgment or that there is not enough information available to draw a more robust conclusion."

The article also points out that the DOE and FBI are only two "intelligence community" agencies out of 18 total, and they are still the only two who
have endorsed the theory. The FBI did so in 2021 and did so with "medium confidence." I don't have a definition for that, other than it is higher
than low, and lower than high.

Four of the remaining 18, plus an additional agency, have endorsed the
natural contact theory, although I don't know to what degree of confidence.
