• Choose Color 2X

From Aaron Thomas@1:275/99 to All on Tue Jun 28 02:07:09 2022
I was shopping on Google (google shopping search) for a computer desk, and
they have filters to choose price range, brand, design, color, and SKIN COLOR OF SELLER.

The options for Skin color of seller are ridiculous. I'm exaggerating, it
don't say "Skin color of seller," but that section is innocently labeled "Discover," whatever that's supposed to mean. The options are: black owned businesses, latino owned businesses, and veteran owned businesses.

That's ridiculous! Do people care which color or veteran status they're buying something from? I doubt it! But Google sure likes to stir the pot of racial resentment. Where's the "asian owned businesses" or the "native American owned businesses" filter? And how about the whites? Don't any white people do any desk sales? What if I want to purchase from white owned businesses only?
    Google doesn't accommodate me :(

Well, some people do care, and it may also help them to prove that they are
not discriminating against protected classes. It would be nice if they
added "(your home country here) owned businesses" but that would probably
    be asking too much.

What do you mean by "protected classes?"

Is Google the one trying to prove something, or is the shopper trying to prove something? (IMO: the only thing they're proving is that systemic racism is ok depending on who it hurts.)

    Niggers.

Google is an equal opportunity searcher ...

You said it. Not me. :)

Could it be that these big tech companies are going out of their way to showcase people of color, and avoiding Caucasians altogether.
Perhaps they believe that they are avoiding racism; when they are clearly standing in the middle of it.
Wouldn't be great if they treated us as if we all were apart of the human race, and without the mention of skin tone or gender?

Caucasians must be punished because of George Floyd, was my first thought. But what did the asians and native americans do to deserve this? Maybe the racial filter guy is out on FMLA, and he'll add those in when he returns to work :)

Yea the media and big tech should get over their obsession. No news is good news, and one color can sell desks as well as the next.

I suspect that is a good part of it.

That was part of the "Dream," if I remember right. Seems like some folks
    don't like that dream much.

Minister Louis Farrakhan says Jesus was a black man, and bases his
claim on verses in the gospel and in revelation. Would you like me to
    quote scripture?

I heard him live in person at the Cajundome in Lafayette, Louisiana
some years ago. He was quite convincing.
