For an "upgrade", wouldn't I have to at least save copies of the
customised XPOINT.COL file and the GLOSSARY.CFG before unpacking?

That's not really necessary as none of your existing configuration
files in your OpenXP directory will be over-written.

I am now up to .40

BUT.. as I was extracting, it *did* prompt me if I wanted to overwrite existing files including the glossary.cfg. I didn't have any
customizations in glossary.cfg yet, so I let it proceed to replace everything. Meanwhile, I think xpoint.cfg is overwritten, but I don't recognize any major difference from the previous one you sent me with your colourizations.

    :-)

BUT.. as I was extracting, it *did* prompt me if I wanted to
overwrite existing files including the glossary.cfg.

None of the files which were overwritten were config files or database
files or messagebase files, etc, etc.

I didn't have any customizations in glossary.cfg yet, so I let it
    proceed to replace everything.

The copy of glossary.cfg which was overwitten was the one in the
"samples" directory, it was not the copy in your main OpenXP
    directory.

Meanwhile, I think xpoint.cfg is overwritten,

Nope, that's impossible, as there isn't a xpoint.cfg in the ZIP
    package.

but I don't recognize any major difference from the previous one
you sent me with your colourizations.

The custom colour config is contained in xpoint.col :)

I feel sure everything went well so don't worry about it :-)

    Regards,
    Martin
