From August Abolins@2:221/1.58 to Martin Foster on Mon Apr 22 22:53:00 2019
    Hello Martin,

One thing I am finding lacking in OXP is the ability to crossreference
sent netmails with their corresponding replies.

Is there a trick to follow a netmail "thread"?

Switching between my "incoming" folder, and the folder where all the
messages I write to you, for example, to find the "original" message, is making me dizzy.

[1] Whilst in the message list in your Netmail folder, cursor over a
message and press the "#" key.

[2] Whilst reading a Netmail, press the "#" key.

[3] In the addressbook, cursor over a contact, press <Enter> to bring
up the message list, cursor over a message and then press the "#"
    key.

    Take your pick :-)

    Regards,
    Martin

Interesting. Up til now, I thought the # was only usable in the echomail areas.

It is too bad that OXP limits the # tree view one message at a time. I wouldn't mind seeing a global tree view on ALL the messages at once.

Good idea but it probably wouldn't all fit on the *console* screen.

Huh? Every screen is still "scrollable", no?

They're scrollable vertically but not horizontally.

I don't see the limitation just because OXP has a console screen. 80
chars across (or about 110 chars in my console) is lots of room! <G>

T-bird doesn't seem to have a problem, and some of those ngs have quite a
few "levels". Looks like OXP has lots of room to play with if it wanted
to. I see that OXP indents the "tree" level every 4th char. T-bird just uses a 2-char offest.

Oh.. and Winpoint seems to do whole message area tree quite well. It too tries to be conservative with the indentation to make room for many sub- levels.

It was just a thought. Something for the wish-list.
