    Hi Ozz,

I wonder why they have not implemented at least a couple WiFi
    drivers.

One can really wonder because the original PCB modem seems to handle
both landline and Internet connections via the laptops built-in antenna.

I did use the Internet access in a Lenovo until its UART gave up.

Anyway, this is the 2nd post to the FTN type networks from PCBoard
Version 16. I do not have (R)eply coded yet... as I was waiting for
my test partner to reply to my previous post 2 hours ago. So, if you
get this and you see any thing wrong please let me know (Good or
    Bad).

I don't use the built-in reply function. I download the messages as QWK
packets and then use the MR/2 reader/editor (highly recommended) to read
and reply. After I'm finished with the mail I upload the replies as QWK packets.

For down/uploading the packets I use a 3rd-party PPE (QWKSCAN) program
because I found the original PCB utilities a bit cumbersome. Of course
one can get used to them.

    Have a nice day,

    Holger

Anything you disliked please speak up now... PCB 16 is slated for
    public release August this year.

So things that a PPE did better - let me know.
Processes done external - like QWK access - let me know, as I am going
to rewrite the QWK interface 100%. Well, hell, the whole system is a
    complete rewrite. ;-)

Working on XModem/YModem support right now, along with MRC Chat...

    Hello Ozz,

Made a list of the programs I use to make PCBoard easier to me and users

For down/uploading the packets I use a 3rd-party PPE (QWKSCAN) program

Anything you disliked please speak up now... PCB 16 is slated for
    public release August this year.

I'll start with the non-PPE programmes first.

    ULP, short for upload processor.
ZIP, UNZIP, PKZIP, PKUNZIP, doesn't need description.
PCOPY, an old copy program for back-ups. Needs a TSR for correct date.
The same TSR (YEAR2000) is needed to update the NODELIST accross the
New Year. This TSR is however only (i think) for OS/2 and DOS based OP's
    MR2 v2.30 to read/reply to echo/netmail.

So things that a PPE did better - let me know.

    QWSCAN.PPE + QWSCAN.CFG as mentioned earlier
NDREADER.PPE + NDREADER.CFG to make easier reading of the msg interface. ____________ PICA & PICB maybe created or are included with the pgm, as ____________ well as a lot of text/info files for the user interface.
    FLIST.PPE + FLIST.CFG
    PWD.PPE + PASSWORD.CFG
    DWNLOAD.PPE
    FREQ.PPE
    FIX.PPE + FIX.CFG

Working on XModem/YModem support right now, along with MRC Chat...

OK, they work OK but a more modern modem support would be an improvement
as the one in the TELIX program that also can address Internet addresses

    Regards,
