From Nodelist Police Commissioner@2:280/464 to All on Fri Mar 11 10:42:58 2022

    Hi All,

In net 5010 3 out of the 4 nodes and the host have the IFC flag added.
I can connect to all of them on the IFC port (60179), and get an EMSI string send to me.

I have also tested a few other R50 nodes which had their host name changed. I could make a binkp connection to all of them, so the rumour Russia would disconnect the internet from the rest of the world, isn't true (yet)...

I also tested all R46 nodes again that fly the IBN flag in the nodelist. There are no significant changes since my last test on tuesday: All the nodes I could connect to on tuesday, are still connectable today.

ZIN 1:1/110 has a new system name: "Maximus" has been changed to "North_American_Elist_Maintainer".

    Regards, NPC

I also have no problems connecting to my R50 links. I think it isn't all that easy to disconnect a country. The internet was designed to be hardened against such attempts. When one route goes down alternative routes are created automaticallty.

    Good.

    Vanity node....

I don't know how good the Great Chinese Firewall works, but it's an ongoing big job to keep it functioning as they want to.
There isn't an on/off switch for internet in Russia that Putin can push. It would take a big effort to switch of all links to the outside.
