Holger used to be a frequent poster in some areas, so I'm wondering what happend here...

In net 250, finally marked Down: Down,9,Paranormal_Panorama_BBS,Hull_E._Yorkshire,Owen_Evers,-Unpublished-,300,XX,INA:ppbbs-26643.portmap.host,IBN:26643,TSJ
This node hasn't been connectable for a while now...

New host name in net 5010 for node: ,275,ec,Chelyabinsk,Evgeny_Chevtaev,-Unpublished-,300,CM,IBN,INA:fido.chevtaev.ru
fido.chevtaev.ru: Name or service not known
The old host name: fido.angeldance.pro is still connectable though. Strange!?

name: fido.angeldance.pro is still connectable though. Strange!?

Maybe it us the other way around. Maybe an old segment made it into the nodelist, so what we see noe is the old host name...

It's a possibility. I have some more info now that supports that theory:
- His last poll to his uplink was over a year ago.
- His facebook page was last updated last october.

And if he had access to facebook, he should be able to use binkd as well, so he might have lost interest too...

I haven't tested him continuesly from the time he appeared in the nodelist, so I don't know...

That is also what my notoriously unreliable memory tells me...

I'm beginning to remember now: His computer/os was the problem not the lack of internet...

So a reasonable assumption would be that his OS/2 thingy went up in smoke and that he was not sufficiently motivated to install Fido on new hardware...
