Just links as posts don't cut it here. ;)

A personal experience or opinion might work better.

iOS 15.1 is released tomorrow. This will allow you to add your covid vaccine QR code to Apple Wallet for easy scanning a venues which require it.

We have tickets to go see Eternals on Saturday in VIP, it will be nice to just have them scan a code on our phones (and show photo ID) rather than having them scrutinize a piece of paper to help speed along the process.

I'm running the release candidate on my personal phone now and it works as advertised, though I haven't had the occasion to use it as of yet. I can even show the QR code from my watch.

Anything else real exciting. Looking forward to it as well. See what they did to it.

It will be nicer when this whole checking/QR thing is nolonger
    required at all! ;)

This is the first year that I had more people use their watches
to make a payment on the shop POS. It looks like an awkward
process when they have to twist their arms to line up with the
POS sensor. It is definately not a flattering look for a lady.
Wouldn't the watch work at 90deg to the sensor?

There doesn't seem to be anything else too exciting, this release also brings "SharePlay" where you can watch a movie with someone else remotely while also video chatting. I can't see myself using that feature.

I would say 90% of the time when I pay debit it's using my watch now. The other 10% seems to be at gas stations where most (but not all) of the pumps don't accept debit tap.

It looks like an awkward process when they have to twist their arms to line up with the POS sensor.

Because I'm right handed & I wear my watch on my left wrist, I don't really seem to have a problem. Everything is positioned conveniently for me, I just double tap the button on the watch and tap away.

I have seen some others where they do some sort of tai chi manoeuvre and shuffle over to use their left wrist to tap. That does look awkward.

Wouldn't the watch work at 90deg to the sensor?

Some pin pads are better than others. I like the ones where the tap sensor is under the screen. There are new(er) ones out where there's a separate tap space above the screen that isn't easily visible, so I'm waving my watch around the screen like a magic wand and then notice the tap symbol at the top of the device.

There seemed to be quite a few things on the roster according to the update.

    Hello Jay!

A watch is normally worn on the left wrist anyway, I thought.
I'm a leftee for writing, but I've always worn a watch on my
left wrist. When you tip the watch to read it, the main control
knob would be strategically positioned so that the right hand
can access it. But I digress.

I was just saying that I see people (right-handed, or left-
handed) trying to position the face of their watches to be in
parallel with the rfid POS sensor (on my POS the sensor is
under the display screen - model iCT250) . That requires a full
twist of the wrist with fingers pointing up. I was thinking
that a 90deg attack ought to work too.

I have seen some others where they do some sort of tai chi
manoeuvre and shuffle over to use their left wrist to tap.
    That does look awkward.

I guess that's what I'm witnessing by everyone.

My POS' display cycles the "tap" symbol, the price, and back to
the "tap" symbol, right on the glass display. The sensor is
under that glass display. I have some people reaching above
the display thinking that the sensor is in the paper-roll
    compartment. :/

People who use their phones have it easier. All they need to do
is bring the phone close enough and it works. No funny twisting
    required.
