so what am I doing wrong

You'll have to get a file called "filegate.zxx" and it's available here:

    http://www.filegate.net/info/filegate.zxx

That's where you'll get the AREANAMES from. You do not name them in your cfg file like you name the folder.

okay thank you and I do get that files filegate.zxx hatch to me but
    stil don't understand
to how it is set out

    ie

    Area DAILYLIST

    Filegate.zxx

Area DAILYLIST 0 ! ADM: Daily Fidonet Nodelist

In sbbs file area internal code it's DAILYLST
    because limite of 8 letters
    file path d:\bbs\files\filegate

Then you tinytic.cfg would look like such...

    AreaName DAILYLIST D:\bbs\files\filegate

After AREALIST comes the file echo name then your path.

AreaName DAILYLIST D:\bbs\files\filegate\DAILYLST < sbbs file area
    intenal code and dir name

is this what you a asking

No... tinytic's cfg has nothing to do with the internal code for the folder you're using. Yes, it may have the same name but all tinytic is asking is where to place the file (in which folder). If D:\bbs\files\filegate\DAILYLST is the folder you want to use then that's the entry you'd use.

okay then my D:\bbs\files\filegate\DAILYLST is the same my dir name
    as well
and what ever I do it still says the the same error.

Post the entry in your tinytic cfg....

Now, go to Windows Explorer and let me know if you have a sub-folder named DAILYLST under: D:\bbs\files\filegate

Also, in the library... let me know what you're using as the Parent Directory and under the actual File Directory what is the Transfer File Path.

Post the entry in your tinytic cfg....

    ## -Format: AreaName <Area's Name> <Destination of files>
    Area DAILYLIST d:\bbs\files\filegate\DAILYLST

Only thing I can see here that could possibly be an issue is there is a double space between the <Aea's Name> and the path.

Now, go to Windows Explorer and let me know if you have a sub-folder
    named DAILYLST under: D:\bbs\files\filegate

    D:\bbs\files\filegate\DAILYLST < is there

Also, in the library... let me know what you're using as the Parent Directory and under the actual File Directory what is the Transfer File Path.

    the Parent Directory d:\bbs\files\filegate

    Transfer File Path. DAILYLST\

Other than what I said above, it should work. Is the .tic and file still in your inbound folder?

but Filetoss works for me, it was just was hoping to use tinytic newsfile.txt for
posting, but I just use filetoss.txt instead.

Welcome... but didn't I send you over HUSKY's htick?
