Then the woman (speaking in broad generalities) complains he is always working and not spending enough time with her.
Then there the women who marry a man to have a kid, then dumps the man
and wants alimony to support them. Or the man merely as a sperm donor.
And men are often the same in this disposable society, who after a while look for an upgrade to the current model.

Funny thing, some demonisers point to the Bible as proof that this is the only rioght way, yet the Bible shows the exact oposite, in a daughter choosing her husbhand, in spite of her father's stated wishes & even the father told her suitor, "It will depend

    Yep.
One can prove or disprove anything by proof-texting, picking a verse
here, another there, etc with no context.

My wife's first born girl, who lives with the two of us has expressed her preference that we screen anyone dshe gets seious about, as she recognizes we4 hacve experience with people that's longer than hers &, in such a matter, more chemically & hormonally o

Sounds like a wise girl. :)

She knows I might be bribed with enough sheep, goats, & oxen, of course! *LOL*

And how much of a dowry do you have for her? :)

    Yup, before & after marriage.

Before: "He takes my breath away!"
    After: "You're smothering me."

Then there the women who marry a man to have a kid, then dumps the man

Thank you, Murphy Brown for putting this into everyone's minds as an option. . .

Yup -- proof is at a wedding -- we're all dressed alike, so if she changes her mind, erverybody takes one step left & the ceremony continues unchecked.

As Seinfeld asked, "If 'he' is the best man, why is she marrying HIM?"

I go by those who have an unbroken chain of interpretation -- the People of the Book (Jewishj practicers of Judaism)

Nopbody believes that daughters can be married off to whomever tyhe father wants to, against her wishes, exceptr splinter groups who crreate oddball rules/allowances just to insisr thart they are new & different -- like the sect of Mormons who force-marry barely puberscent girls to old men.

Joseph made a temporary allowance for polyamory, to account for the incredible losses of males in the Civil War -- later this was disallowed (the US government required this before UT could become a state)

For me, it says what it says & the Bible means what it means. Certainly you can apply the parts that are uiniversal to any time or circumstance, as it's intended.

This is why Jews don't believe in getting minor medical stuff done on the Sabbath, but if it's to preserve a life, any rule of the Sabbath can be set aside. & must be.

Nada; her future husband gets her -- if he doesn't consider that a treasure in itself, then he's not worthy, obviously.
