I haven't had to give my son a paddling like I often got.

I don't recall any paddlings when young. If I did they are long
    forgotten.

When real young, I used the one-finger method of corporal discipline, a simple flick of the nearest earlobe was enough to get his attention on track.

    Good idea.

I recall my spankings; I still maintain they were erxcessive

Whenever one is punished for something when young they think its
excessive, cruel, etc. But years later realise it was for their own good.
I know there were times I would be pouting about something and how cruel
my mother was, etc but eventually learned she wasn't and knew what she was doing.

You must have been less curious & stubborn than I was.

It helped me keep myself in rein, knowing that I just cannot pass on tyhe teaching styule jmy dad used, as I could wind up in court for it, defending my right to have my son!

100%, yes, sir, that's exactly it!

Mnty dad's spankings, too. There are kids suing their parents for childhood spankings now; I could likely make a case, but I don't believe he was abusive, so I just go on in life, happy that I know right from wrong & couldn't steal if I wanted to & could 100% get away with it. Nor lie, which makes life difficult at times, but I gotta be me. Then I find out from an 18yo that immigrated here with his mom, whom I was helping, that in the Ukraine/Russia, lying is a fact of life & if you don't lie, you can't make it in their society.

Good thi9ng I've h ad no designs to emigrate to a natoin where I'd be under watch at any time & place, if not every. . . at least here it's more subtle & I can't deny I chose to have a smartpghone & a Windows computer.

& mostly I've gotten to the age where I just don't care about who knows what of whsat I do or don't do.

If I get in a mood I might make offensive statements &/or gestures. . .

But mostly I've just left messages, via deleted notes that I leave in my Recycle, as that's the only placethat's worth checking first for new data.

People delete the incriminating files asap. (of course, I know how to shred them well & properly)

Put them in one folder, drop to DOS, go there &:

    FOR X in (*.*) echo. > %X%
    ECHO. > DEL *.*

    Boom, nothing there to retrieve.

If cheeky, I put a short message instead of "." (e.g. echo "Domestic spies lick their mothers vaginas" > %X%)

I used to do more of that type, but now I keep it simple.

Not that I gt much, if any, in the line of what would be considered, by bad players in our government or corporations, to be contraband any more.

The lart stuff I did was jusdt to throw off trackers. (I'd spend the day on big sites like microsoft) then go back a day later with the same computer, but a whole new C: & D: set of drives, so they'd identify me as the same guy but find no record of the trackers they plasce, not even a deletion point, & I know they have ways of hiding trackers not discernable by the best tools out there.

I was doing nothing wrong. Simply reminding them that they don't have carte blanc in a free society.

When cops secure a hotel floor, they go through the floor, beginning at one end, checking 7 clearing room by room. So at any point they know that there's no threat at their six. I'm no threat, I just pop those cleared rom doors open occasionally to keep them guessing.

I'm not a threat, I'm not a terrorist. I'm not an enemy of anyone. I'm just a proponent of the freedoms & rights that exist on paper, in our Constitution.

& the established laws of my country.

    Your friend,
