The old B&O station a few blocks from here is a visitors centre and other things. The old storage sheds are various business.
We also have "ghost" tracks here and there that were part of the B&O.
These are usually now trackless green spaces.
On my trip last year I saw parts of the Erie Canal that have survived.
There was one working lock that was preserved as it would have been. But not well marked and I drove past and turned around.
Outside Fredericksburg, VA part of the C&O canal is still there. The
horse path is a walking trail now but one can see where it was. Its a dry depression in the land now and not been used for many a year.
To get to it takes a bit of time going down this narrow road.

    Joe,

The old B&O station a few blocks from here is a visitors centre and other things. The old storage sheds are various business.

One station (the location escapes me now), is a former Railway Express Agency

    office.

We also have "ghost" tracks here and there that were part of the B&O.
These are usually now trackless green spaces.

When you see the "NOW" and "THEN"...or "BEFORE" and "AFTER" photos, it's
hard to believe that trains were there at one time.

On my trip last year I saw parts of the Erie Canal that have
survived. There was one working lock that was preserved as it would
have been. But not well marked and I drove past and turned around.

I've heard of several folks fishing at the base of a dam...in one area, I think they were fishing for mullet (sp?).

Outside Fredericksburg, VA part of the C&O canal is still there. The horse path is a walking trail now but one can see where it was. Its a
dry depression in the land now and not been used for many a year.

I'd never make it down there now.
