It is probably best to keep the radio waves to a minimum around our
    bodies.

The way I look at it the various radio/tv waves weren't created lately
they have always been around. We are just now accessing them.
They are a part of nature.

For the first year or so, I only used the BB as a handy camera.

I have an iPhone that replaced various androids of the past.
I have my last android, an LG, that is no longer a phone but everything
else works, so it can be used with the net.
I have two charging systems, one is with the usb plug and the pc and the other is a ac adapter for a faster charge.

Man-made devices that emit the microwave RF energies are *not* part of nature. ;)

The microwave oven was produced as a result of an unexpected fluke:

"In 1945 Percy Spencer, an engineer working on radar at Raytheon, noticed that microwave radiation from a magnetron oscillator melted a candy bar in his pocket. He investigated cooking with microwaves and invented the microwave oven" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microwave)

So, little was known about the affects of mwaves on our bodies then. Much less is known about the long-term effects.

    Microwaves can cause damage:

"When injury from exposure to microwaves occurs, it usually results from dielectric heating induced in the body. Exposure to microwave radiation
can produce cataracts by this mechanism,[25] because the microwave heating denatures proteins in the crystalline lens of the eye (in the same way
that heat turns egg whites white and opaque). The lens and cornea of the
eye are especially vulnerable because they contain no blood vessels that
can carry away heat. Exposure to heavy doses of microwave radiation (as
from an oven that has been tampered with to allow operation even with the door open) can produce heat damage in other tissues as well, up to and including serious burns that may not be immediately evident because of the tendency for microwaves to heat deeper tissues with higher moisture
    content." (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microwave)

Cellphone to the head.. risk of promoting cataracts.. no thanks.

I wouldn't purposefully sit right next to an operating microwave oven
every day for every meal, either.

Sure, all these waves are around us, but the key is never be too close to
    the source emmitter.

I remember reading about wi-fi being pulled out of schools in certain European countries because there was a direct correlation to health. I
don't have the specific info anymore but you can find a lot written about
    it from reputable sources.

My Blackberry has a handy removeable battery. One battery is always in an external charger ready for use when the one in the actual phone drains
out. I note that many newer phones don't have removeable batteries for
    the sake of slimmer design.

    I seldom use mine.
My plan with TracFone is triple minutes. For every minute I buy I get
two free and they roll over. Have to buy a few hours every three months.
I have 40 or 50 HOURS of use currently.
I use my phone, as a phone, maybe twice a week.
I have always disliked calling people just to chat figuring they are busy doing something and interrupting them.
I use text more since that way (unless really important) the other person
can decide when its convenient for them to reply. (I had a supervisor who would deny saying something or other later and I only texted him since I had
a record and would show "right

My MW is used only a few times a week. And that is generally to warm leftovers.

I have heard something about the new 5G that is supposed to be bad,
    others saying its not.
My phone has wifi and only use data when absolutely necessary.
I brought about an hour of data several years ago and still using what I
    got.

    the sake of slimmer design.

My iPhone SE is like that. If one can even get to the battery in the
    first place.

Sounds like you should get the year's worth of service instead of the 3
month service... the card comes with 400 minutes, with your triple
minutes that would be 1200 minutes... but at least that's for a full
year, so wouldn't collect quite so badly... My TracFone only gives me
double minutes, but they also roll over... currently I have 1628.30 on
my phone, to last me until early March, when I need to get another
    year's service....

I use my phone, as a phone, maybe twice a week.

Not sure I even use it that much... although I'll use it more in
spates.... mostly when I'm not at home, since we primarily still use our landline for calling...

I have always disliked calling people just to chat figuring they are
busy doing something and interrupting them.

That depends on the person... some people I call just to chat, since I
know that that's what they need... generally shut-ins or the like...

I use text more since that way (unless really important) the other
person can decide when its convenient for them to reply. (I had a supervisor who would deny saying something or other later and I only texted him since I had a record and would show "right

Yup, keeping a record can be a good reason to have the conversation in
text rather than live... just have to have room to save the relevant
    texts then... :)

My phone, the data is part of the minutes that I have... and isn't
really all that useful anyway... mostly for pulling down text messages
that are in graphic form or that have picture attachments.... I don't
really use the browser function otherwise....

    I have thought about that.

double minutes, but they also roll over... currently I have 1628.30 on
    my phone

I just checked and I have 8.55 GB of data available, 6764 in text and
2786 minutes (46 hours) in talk.
I seldom use data, unless something I need to know right away when a wifi signal isn't available. Those times I'm on and right off again.
One time I did the dumbest thing. Even for me.
I had recently gotten a phone with data (no wifi then, or at least on
that phone) and suddenly the data stopped working. I only used that to send violator photos to the office). No matter what I did I couldn't get it to work.
I called TracFone and they checked the phone remotely and couldn't find
out what the problem was. They said it could be defective and would replace it.
Had to send it in and wait for the new one and still had the same
    problem.
I spoke to someone else who said, "Oh, all your data time is gone". DUH.
I brought more data, which I still am using, (something like $50 worth)
and that was several years ago. I replaced the replacement (a no name brand then) with a brand name phone (LG) and later with a iPhone SE which I'm
still using three or four years late
The LG had wifi and I got a free net account at the university (which I
am still using) since working there at the time after explaining why I wanted one. The woman who took my app wasn't happy with illegal parkers in HC
spaces either and glad we were taki

we primarily still use our landline for calling...

After I got my first cell, over 10 years ago, I dropped by land line.
Why pay $30+ a month for something I wasn't using?
When I called to cancel the woman asked why and I said I had gotten a
cell phone. Her reply was a sad "ok", which I'm sure she had heard many times.

I don't really use the browser function otherwise....

The only apps I use on a regular basis is the app store for updates
(weekly), the weather app and something else.
I use the browser sparingly. Mostly to just surf when bored and wifi available.
If the gov't listens in on my phone they are probably as bored as all get out. :)
Most of my conversations are around 0600 when my super calls saying the
woman at Bio Tech can't come in and my replying, with a sigh, I'll be there.
    :)
I don't use the location services unless absolutely necessary. The last
    time was on my trip.
That was mostly using a hot spot to get detailed directions with the cars
GPS then it was turned off again.
I don't carry the phone on me as a rule (but do at work) and it sits on
the desk unmoved for days on end.

... Been there, done that, tripped alarm, came here.

    LOL
