The only time my printer is turned on are the few times I use it.

The wireless at our house comes through Richard's computer, so that gets
shut down when he turns off his computer... :)

I will pick up the same wireless signals at home all the time. There are three or four that no matter the time of time of day or night there's a
    signal. (PW protected).
Comcast as two signals (other than from my router) I get all the time,
one is PW protected users can access when away from home and the other is a free city wifi signal.
In my travels in some larger cities I would get a "Cable WiFi" signal and scrolling through it would offer various cable companies, one being Comcast.
I could access that with my Xfinity account I have set up on the phone and
use here or all over the count
The only time I used the wifi on the phone would be if looking for directions or booking a room. Every motel I stayed at (no matter how small or remote) had PW protected wifi and given the PW at check in.
Some FF places have free customer wifi and most of those I could connect while in a parking lot, if close enough to the building. I used the clowns free wifi a lot for directions/reservations without going into the building
    or buying anything. :)

    Likewise... :)

We can likewise pick up wireless signals, not our own, and usually PW protected... I'm pretty sure Richard PW-protected our wireless so that
others can't access it when he does have his computer on...

Comcast has two signals (other than from my router) I get all the

    Those could be handy... :)

(cut off just a smitch there, but I'm guessing "country"?)

The only time I used the wifi on the phone would be if looking for directions or booking a room.

Those are useful things to be using it for... :)

Every motel I stayed at (no matter how

It's become an amenity as standard as clean sheets... <G> Oh, or as
    TV.... <G>

    That works fine... ;)
