I'd've thought that the days of fasting wouldn't have been much
different to them than a regular day would be

I've found if I fast from something, for any number of reasons, is
when I crave whatever I gave up all the more.
Say I want to drop a pound or two so give up eating say ice cream.
That is always when I want it more. BUT, if I have it in the freezer I don't have the craving.

I heard a program once about how deprivation causes cravings, and
fixations on the item lacked... the brain focuses on the "missing" thing
to an obsession... whether it be physical or emotional... kinda made
sense... For you, having it in the freezer tells your brain that it is available, so the craving isn't necessary... :)

... If you think you are confused now, wait until I explain it!
