Can those of you who have a bittorrent client properly installed please try this out (you may have to cut&paste it into your browser URL bar):

This request from another echo was probably too small of a download to be of importance. Here's a bigger one, and this time I'd also like to see what the result with IPv6 only (if you can make that happen) will be.

If you test the IPv6 functionality for me, make sure that your bittorrent client is set up to use IPv6. In uTorrent you can see it under the tab "Logger". One of the first entries there should read "IPv6 is installed".

Tried again, now downloading from [2001:470:27:302::2]:12344

You are using an ancient uTorrent 2.2.1. My uTorrent has no "Logger" tab.

    There you go then?

You are using an ancient uTorrent 2.2.1. My uTorrent has no "Logger" tab.

I've tried a lot of newer versions, but didn't like how they were more and more bloated, so I always reverted to 2.2.1. This version has all the functionality I need, but none of the needless trinkets.

Yeah. But the download speed from you over your he.net tunnel sucks. :)

That's not what I have seen here. On a big torrent, like when downloading an Ubuntu ISO, I can have some 10 or so peers after I've downloaded it and, of course, keep seeding to at least twice the download. I then usually have 10-20% IPv6 connections, and they are getting the same speed as those IPv4 connected. Sometimes above 10MB/s.

Maybe it's something at your end? Like with the "No IPv6" comment? 8-)

It seems like you were the only taker here though. I guess the MAFIAA has managed to scare people away from the superior bittorrent world. Why download from 30-40 servers simultaneously when you can all download from one single server, right?

I was a taker. But my connection could only be IPv4. The max
rate at any one time was about 130kbps, but the rate was jumping
all over the place while your system was the sole feed. The
roughly 230MB file took a little over an hour to get. The max
my connection is capable of achieving is about 650kbps.

    Torrent tech is amazing.

    Maybe.

I downloaded your thing at speeds under 1MB/s. At the same time I started to download Ubuntu ISO at speed about 5MB/s. Downloading your thing almost stopped.

But torrent is not for downloading from one site only.

Like with the "No IPv6" comment?

The first time the connection was ipv4-only. I don't know how magnet/torrent works. Maybe it cannot create ipv4 and ipv6 connections to the same site/torrent?
