Good morning Joe,

I picked up a new router, I went with the Linksys WRT1900ACS (That's a
mouthfull eh?). My local staples had two left and the price wasn't bad.

As soon as it connects I do get a ipv6 address now, my question to you is
do you know if they assign a static one if you already pay for a static
ipv4 address?

I think that was the same one I returned, due to lousy configuration setup. Could not set up a static IPv6 address. Only a tunnel or some such, as I recall. Got a DLink 1900ACS instead. Has full setup. Lousy support but I got it working. Now if only I can find out why my V6 address changed when I re-installed windows.

You are still relying on lionsden.ddutch.nl but you did not inform me of
your address changes.

The current values are:

lionsden.ddutch.nl has address 69.165.170.121
lionsden.ddutch.nl has IPv6 address 2607:f2c0:a000:54:f9e0:b9ff:6166:c8ef

You'd have to ask yor ISP. Mine does, but it's an ISP by ISP thing.

Yes the linksys firmware is junk, but this is the opensource model with
full support from linksys on flashing DD-WRT on it.

Once you have dd-wrt now you have control. :)

Once you have dd-wrt now you have control. :)

I tried that on one of my TP-link routers. It very efficiently removed both wifi modes. Nowhere in the configuration I could find to activate at least the supposedly supported 2.4 radio. Going back to factory, was a pain, both times I tried that.

I have. Thanks Joe! I've almost got things going here, I had to back out
to the old router becuase my son needed internet for registering at college
so I'll play again in a week or two. Nothing gets done fast around this
place.

Sorry I cant help more. As you can see I am having my own troubles. I finally have the BBS stabilized again. I have rebooted and the IPv6 address has remained the same, so, until I reinstall again, I should be good.
