    Hi All.

If you send a file 'test' to 2:221/6, the system tries to call you back. :)

It does not work from my point 1. This may have to do with the fact that PE are enabled on my laptop running Win 7 pro?

The IPv6 address that is assigned by SLAAC (kbt.vlist.eu) is not used for outgoing and so you do not see it. The temp PE address when used for incoming may not pass the firewall.

OTOH.. the previous outgoing connection should have opened a channel shouldn't it?

I womder what you see on yiur end. Here is wmat I see:

I believe so. I googled about this and it seems so. WinXP and Win2003 are so dumb about this, later Windozes do not force the slaac address if there is manually set address available.

I could turn off radvd in the router, but then I'd have to manually configure every client.

Bindaddr in binkd config might help, but that's only fine tuning. It doesn't really matter from what ip the call goes out.

    Hello Tommi,

On Sunday April 09 2017 12:29, you wrote to me:

I will now try from my main system:

    + 10:48 [1340] call to 2:221/6@fidonet
    10:48 [1340] trying cow.dy.fi
    [2001:470:1f15:cb0:f1d0:2:221:6]...

Hmm, you are not using the nodelist... ;)

A remmnant from the time that it needed an override to call via IPv6...

    - 10:48 [1600] incoming from 2001:470:1f15:cb0:f1d0:2:221:6 (1164)
    + 10:48 [1416] incoming session with cow.rbb.bbs.fi
    [2001:470:1f15:cb0:f1d0:2:221:6]
    - 10:48 [1416] SYS COW Callback Service v2.11
    - 10:48 [1416] ZYZ Tommi Koivula
    - 10:48 [1416] LOC Calling ipv6.dynamic.ziggo.nl

    "Calling ipv6.dynamic.ziggo.nl". :)

So maybe using the back resolved hostname is not such a good idea after all...

I remomebr us having a discussion about Privacy Extension numbers. You called the IP number on which the call was received. That did not alway work with Privay Extensions enabled. My system(s) are now configured to anwser on PE addresse as well.

So why does it work from 280/5555 and not from 280/5555.1?

See my previous message. Your .1 is not nodelisted. :)

Of course it is not listed in the nodelist, it is a point. It should answer on the address it calls out with. Or kbt.vlist.eu.

    Cheers, Michiel

I removed the "backresolv" from the binkd conf, and commented it so that I wont accidentally turn it back on.

You may test again if you wish.

Anyways IMHO reverse dns is not set right at ziggo. :)

Yep, and back then I forced my binkd to use only the :f1d0: address:

    bindaddr [2001:470:1f15:cb0:f1d0:2:221:6]
    listen [2001:470:1f15:cb0:f1d0:2:221:6]

So it will use the same address for in and out.

    Now it works ;-)
