From Michiel van der Vlist@2:280/5555 to All on Tue Sep 8 12:05:01 2015
    Hello All,

We have a new one. Michel van Osenbruggen of 2:280/1043.

Note that if you want to make an IPv6 connect, you must use the new host name: fido.falconbbs.nl.

    The nodelist will be updated.

Michel, welcome to the Fido IPv6 club!

    Cheers, Michiel

I wanted to praise it as, not bad for a third world country, but I will
    refrain from doing so. ;)

That's been obvious for a long time -- not only regarding IPv6. Kudos!

Must be something in the beer?

This native IPv6 connectable node doesn't buy Heineken! ;)

There is more to Dutch beerthan Heineken.

But no, it is not the beer. It is an NC actively promoting IPv6 that does the trick. ;-)

I don't think I can milk much more out of it. I am running against the law of deminishing returns. The first three were not all that hard because they were actively interested in IPv6 themselves. The last two were running an IPv6 capable mailer but needed a little push to configure their systems to get it right.

But now I am running against sysops that are not all that active in Fidonet any more, whose systems are running legacy software or exotic OS's like RISC-OS that will never be upgraded to support IPv6.

I doubt I will ever entice them to upgrade their system, so the only way to up the percentage of IPv6 capable nodes is to wait for those legacy systems to fade away... :-(

    Cheers, Michiel
