• Ham License Plates

Can someone tell me what the real advantage is of putting your callsign on your license plate? Besides advertising where you live, provided you didn't give the FCC a PO box when you got your license. My states charges the same fee for a ham plate as they do for a standard plate.

    Opinion ...
No advantage ... however, a little pride and a really cool vanity plate.

That's what I thought. I have read that some states waive the registration fee all together for ham operators. Even still, not sure I'd give the common citizen my address in case he/she wasn't so impressed with my driving.

Then don't drive like an idiot. I've had ham plates for nearly 20 years without any issue so I don't see why you're droning on about this moot point...

Also, real names are required in this echo.

Mr. Dennis, sir, I am far from droning. I am asking the opinion of others for persective. Simply seeking counsel (Proverbs 15:22).
