• Documentation Question.

From Ozz Nixon@1:275/301 to All on Mon Nov 20 19:18:56 2017
    Hello everybody.

I installed the old DOS version, got everything working then copied the + version over it. However, where do I find the documentation? Figured out Alt-Q to quote, Alt-R to reply and INS to do a new post.

I switched to + because my old v3 version complained that my squish msgbase was
too large. Is there a limitation on the /W32 version and Squish? (Right now, I am running with 11 months of all echos on this machine - and I would like to keep a couple years online - if Squish has a limitation, I would like to know ASAP. (Broke Hudson in my first two months)).

    Thanks for any feedback...

The main two doc files are GoldRef.Txt and GoldUsr.Txt (I can send via email with your addy if you like?). See sig for my addy :)

i wrote in another echo about two of SQUish's limitations... JAM is the best thing going these days... or maybe the synchronet message base format but i'm not as familiar with it as i am JAM... JAM does also have some limits on some systems, though... especially with software that can't use unsigned integers larger than 2M (eg: PASCAL longint is signed but that what had to be used)...

Install the help file, and press f1.

Squish and JAM should be fine.
Squish has some limitations regarding reply chain linking.
    I switched everything to JAM.
