    ==================================================================
    The goal is to provide the active status and details of echos that
    a user may find of interest, relatable and relevant. ==================================================================

    ========================================================
    Let's say the landing page provides something like this: ========================================================

    FIDONET Echomail Activity
    Last 7 days

    Sorted by most active

    msg# Echotag %

    ====================================================================
    Then.. upon clicking one of the echotags, eg. [POLITICS] the outcome
    would be this which lists all the systems/BBSes that carry it. ====================================================================

    Then.. from the above, all the relevant info to reach the bbs is
    there. Clicking on one of the [Networks:] would provide more info
    about that net and its echos. ====================================================================
    For example, clicking on [Fidonet] would yield all the other Fidonet

    then once again, by clicking on a specific echo, see what other BBSes
    link up with it too. ====================================================================
    The idea is to help visitors identify the systems that carry the
    echo of their interest, and to see how active it is. ====================================================================

    [ PART 3 of a message that describes a design for the echomail

    [

    [o] The whole idea is that this is available "live" from any
    hosted system using the web so that the user can get the
    info they need about certain echos, their availability and
    accessibility.

    [o] Other benefits and advantages fall into play:

    BBS visibility,
    Fidonet visibility
    Othernet visibility, and clearly
    ECHOMAIL visibility for users.

    However, this would not preclude its usefulness to sysops who
    would like to observe other systems and see what other echos
    are in play.

    [o] A search feature on the site/service could provide search
    results based on the topic/subjects that user is interested in.

    [o] The results could span Fidonet and othernets combined.

    It probably leaves out people who's internet is being paid by
    an employer. <g>

    But there are still many sysops who can host instances of a
    server/script to handle something like an echomail status tool.
