    Interesting. What triggered that?

This warning appears when an unknown user (without a user profile) submits a message. Now this is just a warning and there are no prohibitions. I'm just considering doing this to keep Fido from spam.

Perhaps a warning is best sent to the user privately?

Yes. It would be better that way. However, a bot cannot open a chat with a user by itself, and such a message may not be read forever.

    Have nice nights.

But I thought tha people who use the invite links to join will
automatically become "known". How is it possible for someone
to post to a group that they haven't joined?

So.. did all of us see that one on our Telegram apps?

This is a very bad idea. Invite links are published in Fido. Such messages are available on many Web BBS and are easily found by Google and other search engines. Accordingly, a spam bot can easily join a group. However, it will no be able to customize his profile.

How is it possible for someone to post to a group that they haven't joined?

    It's not possible.

So.. did all of us see that one on our Telegram apps?

Yes. All group members will receive this warning. It doesn't get to Fido.
This is inconvenient, but due to the fact that the bot cannot write to the personal chat first. I can turn this off and display such messages about the need for registration only when a new user joins the group.

PS: Is it possible to write a message to any echo conference on other BBSs without registration?

    Have nice nights.

Very good. Obviously you have much incite into this because you
have processed many groups in the past for a long time and are
    familiar with the attempts.

The warnings themselves could become annoying. :(

How can a human attempt to post to a private group? If other
bots are doing that, then maybe don't send any warning at all -
    just ignore it. (?)

PS: Is it possible to write a message to any echo

You are monitoring the situation quite well.

OK. Then these warnings are happening more often in the PUBLIC groups/echos that you link with the bot?

In that case, since Telegram announces when someone has Joined (and everyone sees that), why not send a private "warning" message to that person?

Infrequently. The bot knew about the majority of people who write frequently for a long time.

In that case, since Telegram announces when someone has Joined (and everyone sees that), why not send a private "warning" message to that person?

I repeat again. The bot will not be able to privately, and sending manually every time is too difficult.

Noted. Apparently there are aspects with the API that Telegram
    offers you than I realize.

I just thought that if Telegram generates the USERID #, then
your bot can easily construct a "reply" to the holder of that
    USERID.

I think you mentioned that you hoped to built an auto-welcome
PVT message to the user. I guess that is harder to do than
    imagined.

In anycase, I suppose most people would rather appreciate the
option to lurk silently in the background. If they suddenly got
automated messages indicating that their "silent" presence is
detected, then that could tick them off.

I suppose a better thing might be is to have a "channel" for the fidonet.telegram project and broadcast some member stats and
    activity data in there.
