• Release 2.2.0.0

From Wilfred van Velzen@2:280/464 to All on Mon Feb 20 18:30:04 2023
    Hi All,

FMail 2.2.0.0 has been released. This is the release text:

Couple of bug fixes, and some new functionality in this release.
Most notably: The modules are now also available in 64-Bit Windows versions.
For the details look in the ChangeLog file.

And specially note, because this breaks downwards compatibility: Changed
addressing of special Hudson board areas #NETDIR #DUP, #BAD, etc
to @NETDIR, @DUP, @BAD, etc. Because # has a special meaning on the Linux
command line. If you use those in your .bat files, you will have to change
    them!

    You can download it here:

    https://sourceforge.net/projects/fmail/files/FMail/2.2/

BTW: Nothing changed compared to the 2.1.9.1-Beta version.

    Bye, Wilfred.

I hope so, but there isn't a time frame set for it... :-/

    And FMail/2 of course. ;D

If there is a gcc for OS/2, it shouldn't be that hard to compile fmail and ftools from the current source. But I'm not so sure about fconfig.

The last FMail/2, was the 1.60 version still build with the Borland compiler by the original author. And available on the sourceforge website. The file date of the zip file says 2014. But that is the upload date. The binary is from 2001...

fmail and ftools compiles on Arm 32-bit with build target 'Native'. I couldn't test anything. No Windows -> no fconfig -> no fmail.cfg ;).

Codeblocks is not installable on Debian m68k due to a broken dependency (but that should be fixable with a bug report to Debian).

Do you know if FMail would run on big-endian archs?

'fmail about' Should produce some text. And even 'ftools' without options should report it can't find 'fmail.cfg'... But that is hardly testing it. ;-)

No, it would make a mess reading and writing of for instance .pkt files...

And it's "internal" files wouldn't be compatible with the files on little-endian archs.
