But the signature separator "-- " is not there in your .jpg.

Ah yes... It was being hidden by a Thunderbird Add-on.

BTW, Claws Mail shows the signature in different colour too, but Sylpheed doesn't.

The different colour result was the goal. I made the same
adjustment to the signature separator in OXP too. The result
looks good in OpenXP with messages from other people who use
    "-- " too.

Max v3.03 and possibly 3.04 are around for OS/2 including the sources.

I think the last one I used was 03 a few months before IBM dropped support for Warp 4.5 (1,2,3) etc which with the writing on the wall and IBM not offering the sources to help clean it up and fix bugs it was time to change to Linux.

Pity, I did enjoy using it and for that matter programming using it while running a BBS/mailer etc.

I chose Maximus mainly because it seemed to have the widest selection of apps that are native to OS/2 .. DOS apps run like a pile of dog crap on eComstation so I chose to go with the OS/2 version.

I have the 3.03 source code but it just will not compile on ANY platform .. I followed the instructions to try to compile on Win2K and Linux and both choke on squish .. 3.01 is the last complete OS/2 version that I have been able to find unless you can point me in a different direction for the binaries

That's surprising. I ran Maximus and BinkleyTerm for DOS on DOS first,
them moved them to OS/2, then swapped out the binaries for OS/2 native
ones. It seemed to run OK - mind you, this was OS/2 Warp 3, if memory
serves, on a 486/66 with 16 mb of RAM.

Just grabbed 3.03 and yes does report some issues under Linux i.e., -lcompat and where definitions declared not used and the reverse but if I had a bit more
time can I think be resolved and these for both max and squish.

Just had a look at 3.02 but that assumes you are using Windows.

So for Linux 3.03 is the way to go and resolve the issues to get a good build.

I have had similar to get other old code to work such as golded although never managed it (at least so far) for running on a Raspberry Pi 4 but ok for a 3B+. No have not figured out that one but will need to allocate some time resources to it in the next few weeks.

It helps if you are a programmer and for non *nix platforms to install the open
Watcom C compiler. I think it is around for Linux but have now run out of time.
