I see your node in the path and seen bys now. That looks good.

So when I send to my Hub in Zone 1 (of which I am member) there are PATH the SEEN BY lines. But when I send to my Hub in Zone 2 there are no PATH and SEEN BY.

So perhaps this is a result of Zone gating as suggested previously? I think it's ok in these circumstances?

    Hello Morgan,

I see your node in the path and seen bys now. That looks good.

So when I send to my Hub in Zone 1 (of which I am member) there are
PATH the SEEN BY lines. But when I send to my Hub in Zone 2 there are
    no PATH and SEEN BY.

So perhaps this is a result of Zone gating as suggested previously? I think it's ok in these circumstances?

The first thing I would check is that it is not your own node removing the path and seen bys from mail heading to zone 2. In my sbbsecho.ini I use ZoneBlindThreshold = 4 and that seems to do what I want it to do.

The help for that option says we are breaking the rules of 3D addressing but that is what we want today when mail is moving between zones.

It is much better to leave path and seen by lines intact. If your link is the one removing them then ask your link if he has options to leave them intact. Most modern tossers can do that and and some older ones can't.

    Ttyl :-),
    Al

Okay. I have set that option in my sbbsecho.ini, and I'm now sending this message via my Zone 2 hub. Hopefully this resolves the missing PATH issue.

Ok, sounds good. I appreciate the assistance.

I don't see your node in the path or seen bys unfortunately.

Glad to help, if I can.

I can't know for certain but I am almost certain that your node was in the path and seen bys when it left your node and went to zone 2.

Is it possible you can have a look at the packet going to zone 2 before it is sent and have a look to be sure.

If it was in there (as it should be) then your Z2 link is stripping them. I would ask that link if they can change that behaviour, or link with a different node in Z2. If that link is running Synchronet they will also want "ZoneBlindThreshold = 4" in their sbbsecho.ini.

I made another attempt to save the setting using the GUI config. Can you check my Path on this message?

    Thanks.
