    Hello everybody!

first a quick rundown on setup
    hpt/binkd/golded
sending netmail to/from fight-o-net works as expected but when sending /receiving from fsxnet (zone 21) the via lines still show as coming from fidonet zone 1.. what can I do to fix ??

    Thanks,
    Michael

    Hello Michael,

first a quick rundown on setup
    hpt/binkd/golded

It is hpt that is writing those via lines.

sending netmail to/from fight-o-net works as expected but when sending /receiving from fsxnet (zone 21) the via lines still show as coming
from fidonet zone 1.. what can I do to fix ??

A short time ago I asked someone to send me a test netmail in Z21. That message was written on Mystic, passed via two hpt nodes and arrived at it's destination via 3 Z21 nodes and all the via lines are from Z21 although all those nodes are fidonet nodes as well.

There must be something different in our configs although I'm not sure what that is. If any of those nodes don't have a Z21 AKA they might get a fidonet AKA in the via lines.

Then you have configured something incorrectly.

Maybe you can see something in the tparser output?

I have the same setup as OP and we are working together to figure this out as its happening to me as well... Here is a sample message that went out of bbs on fsxnet, hpt shows packed correctly but note the via line..

One thing I see that is different between our configs is that your netmail bases are JAM and mine are *.MSG. I don't know if that makes a difference, it shouldn't but that is something different.

Ok so to make it a little crazier, we made the route file more like yours and it seemed to fix it.. When the other sysop sent me a netmail it worked, correct via line. When I sent one, it was wrong via line, the only different between our setups was he was using golded and I was using mystic editor. SO I installed golded on my bbs machine and it sends correct via line via golded as editor... This does not make sense right? Netsurge had thought our route file was off and he was correct fixing it at least got it working, but now the question is how can mystic editor possibly be affecting the via line of mail that hpt packs?

I would be annoyed if it I was not happy to have something to do....

Good to hear. I sent a netmail to your Z21 address. Did you get it and did the via lines look right?

If you reply to that netmail I'll have a look at the via lines and let you know what I see.
