    Hello Oli,

According to Fake News the Obese Turtle is trailing Sleepy Joe in Arizona, Nevada, Georgia and _Pennsylvania_.

Fake News got it all wrong. Here's the real deal, as told by
Bluto himself (played by Donald Trump) at the animal house -

D-Day (Bruce McGill): "War's over, man. Wormer dropped the big one.

Bluto: What? Over? Did you say 'over'? Nothing is over until we decide
it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!...

It ain't over now, 'cause when the goin' gets tough, the tough get
goin'. Who's with me? Let's go! Come on!...(He ran to the front door
    but no one followed him)

Bluto (returning): What the f--k happened to the Delta I used to know?
Where's the spirit? Where's the guts, huh? This could be the greatest
night of our lives, but you're gonna let it be the worst. 'Ooh, we're
afraid to go with you, Bluto, we might get in trouble.' (shouting)
Well, just kiss my ass from now on! Not me! I'm not gonna take this.
Wormer, he's a dead man! Marmalard, dead! Niedermeyer...

Otter (Tim Matheson): Dead! Bluto's right. Psychotic, but absolutely
right. We gotta take these bastards. Now, we could fight 'em with
conventional weapons. That could take years and cost millions of lives.
No, in this case, I think we have to go all out. I think this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on
    somebody's part.

We're just the guys to do it...LET'S DO IT!

At the most basic, but the most important, we are people.

Beyond that, at some point in the past, people in our family lines came here from somewhere else. The reasons weren't all the same, obviously. But even those who we call "Native Americans" ancestors came here from elsewhere at some point in time.

Less Historically speaking, everyone wants the opportunity to make a better life for themselves and their family.

We all want the the opportunity to find happiness and love.

These are all small examples, of course. But I think small things can be very important. Especially when we find ourselves in times like these, when everyone seems so focused on differences.

Sometimes you have to shift your focus to the little things, in order to take a breath, and see that the differences that seem so huge, are really not that important.

    Hello Bj”rn,

Both sides blame each other for everything. There's no one that CP>says
"As a nation, we've messed up. We need to come together and CP>fix this."

Yeah, it seems like the multi-party systems that most of us in Europe have,
works a wee bit (not much, but still) better.

There is no mention of [political] party in the US Constitution.
Our first president was of no party. And look what he did. Picked
all the justices of the US Supreme Court. Each and every one of
them. Okay, one of them [Samuel Chase] was later impeached. But
then we went and put his face on US currency. So, it's all good.

And how come almost all US politicians, and so may citizens, seem to have forgotten what the 'U' in USA stands for...?

George Wallace called it the United State of America.

    Hello Bj”rn,

According to Fake News the Obese Turtle is trailing Sleepy Joe in
    Arizona, Nevada, Georgia and _Pennsylvania_.

What a surprise that the expected landslide did not occur.

President-elect Joe Biden has a mandate, winning by over 4 million
votes more than his opponent, along with at least 5 deep red states.
That is more popular votes than any other elected president in the
    history of the USA.

Democrats retained the House of Representatives.

Democrats still have a possibility of controlling 50 seats
in the Senate, along with having the Vice President serve as
    President of the Senate.

70 million USAians obviously still think that Bunker Boy is the best POTUS they can get.

They have been forgiven. Why? Because President-elect Joe Biden
asked us to forgive them for they know not what to do.

Surely it must be the educational system that has failed? Plus of course the
    US media.

The US media carried Joe Biden's victory speech live on television
for all to see, and hear. And we could all hear the people honking
    their horns in approval.

Not even for the senate did anything make sense. Mitch, Graham and Susan (e.g.) winning big?!?!?! What's the matter with the US people?

Moscow Mitch won in a state that prefers horses to people.

Lindsley Graham barely won against a black man who would have
    won had he been white.

Susan Collins barely got over 50% of the vote, thus avoiding the
runner-up to win due to the state's unique second-vote provision which
would have made her the winner (the third-place candidate had a bit
    over 1%).

There were a few other close races where the Democrat could have
won. But there are two runoffs in Georgia, making it possible for
Democrats to gain control of the Senate, with the Vice President
serving as President of the Senate in case of a tie.

But, then again, the DEMs are just as corrupt as the GOPs, depending just as
much on "donations" from the Big Corporations.

Unlike Republicans, Democrats are not controlled by an orange turd.
In fact, I doubt there are any true Republicans anymore, as the orange
turd seems to have gotten rid of them all. Even Mitt Romney has bent
the knee. And there are no more John McCains.

So one couldn't really expect any sort of exploiting of the GOP's mistakes by the DEMs -- they're all the same.

George Wallace said that. A long time ago. Look where he is now.

You just answered your own question. Both sides have a lot of idiotic corrupt idiots, so neither one is particularly appealing.

The furthest sides are so polarizing and vehement, that the result is some of each side are voting for the other out of spite. So nothing is truly gained by either side.

The two party system has been so ingrained into the minds of people, that except in rare instances, they are immediately dismissed as at best useless, at worst, blamed by both sides for costing them the election.

Both sides blame each other for everything. There's no one that says "As a nation, we've messed up. We need to come together and fix this."

Yeah, it seems like the multi-party systems that most of us in
Europe have, works a wee bit (not much, but still) better.

With two parties, it doesn't tend to leave a lot of room for options. They have to work out a lot of compromises if there isn't a decisive majority of one or the other party in office.

In this era, there are very few of either party willing to do so.

Undoubtedly, once the dust finally settles on this elections, all of the recounts of the states with very close margins, legal challenges of fraud, etc. that have become fairly common now, if indeed Biden is elected, he's already promised to undo many things that the current administration has done.
I'm not saying that's good or bad, but focusing on that instead of the multitude of other things that need to be addressed does little to make any real progress to make things better for the people you claim to represent.

And how come almost all US politicians, and so may citizens,

They're not nationwide elections, they're elected by their state
constituency. We can start a thread about Maine, South Carolina and
Kentucky voters, but I wouldn't know where to start. :)

All three, IMO, demonstrate a track record of hypocrisy and a lack of
integrity. I'd like to understand how you could vote for that.
