I'll see what I can find out about Tony.. Btw, hope you are a bit better now. Over here we'll be luck to hit 75F today :(.. darn where the heck is summer :(

I am a bit better now... I've been down a bit due to polycythemia... they could not pull blood from me because my iron level was too low... the hematologist was baffled because he never encounterd a situation where someone was anemic with too many red blood cells. After two IV Iorn infusions I finally got that up enough and they pulled red blood cells out. Now that my blood is better I'm feeling cooler.

State fair is next week and I may be peforming on stage at the request of friends in the community hopefully I'll have video this time.

I guess you keep them on their toes over there <g>... Hey, I'm glad they had a solution for you that worked to help you feel cooler. One doesn't need more heat in Louisville from what I remember <g>.

Hasn't this been in the works upwards of a month or more now? Dang, the guy has
applied to and setup 4 othernets in the meantime! A little ridiculous in this day and age what with Fidonet losing more members than it's gaining, isn't it?

If I would have known it was going to take this long, I would've just given him
a node number in my net. :/

not really... RL is still in play in many situations and the procedures do ask for some leeway of several weeks because of this...

If I would have known it was going to take this long, I would've just given him a node number in my net. :/

as far as i'm personally concerned, this would have been OK to a point... that point being that when they got assigned to their local network and had to reconfigure everything for that new address... not everyone is a 20something (30something??) that is connected to ""the 'net"" 24x7... too many folks are trying to live too fast for what is really going on... social media shows this every day...

Blame "RL" all you want, but if you travel a lot for work, or work anywhere in the computer industry, usually you have access to email at some point during the day, if not more. The fact that emails go unanswered for lengthy periods of time just shows laziness and/or carelessness.

If I remember right, a couple of weeks is stated somewhere (policy maybe? who cares). This situation (and others concerning the same RC) has taken over a month. If you don't have the time to do a very simple job, and do it at least halfway well.. then don't do it at all.

I'm "30something" and work construction for a living. I don't have access to the internet anywhere from 8-12 hours a day (not including sleepy time). These seem like a lot of lame
excuses. And please don't forget, this _IS_ social media.

I've already given a timeframe. If RJ doesn't contact him by then, I've offered up my net and fast reliable service.

At least the last 5 applicants to R11 have been seriously disappointed with their application process at the RC level. Apparantly he's the NC of too many nets (too many hats?), so can't pass the applicant off to an NC to take care of them. Heck, all 5 of them may not even be here any more. It's ridiculous.

    Hi Nick,

month. If you don't have the time to do a very simple job, and do it at least halfway well.. then don't do it at all.

It wasn't Jame's fault in this. I didn't contact him _first_ after I got Tony's application. I contacted Allen Prunty thinking it would be a quick add for him, however I guess he had problems that I couldn't know about at that time.

I contacted Jame this week... and I let Tony know yesterday what was going on.

Ok by you I hope? :)

    Take care,
    Janis

I'd love to hear it if you able to get some video of it. :) Good luck with that performance, I expect your friends will enjoy it a great deal :)

Video is somewhere with one of my family members. I haven't checked in for a while I've just not had much of a chance between physical therapy, pain management and all.

A couple weeks after the state fair I was in an automobile accident that messed my back and neck up bad. I've seen my last days singing at the fair, or anywhere. I am able to walk and get around now and the worst of the pain is in my neck, shoulder and right arm.

I can't bend over to pick anything up without nearly passing out. I'm getting up and out more. Problem is with the MG I just can't go out around people during the flu season, it could kill me.

I'm fortunate, but hopeful that I can come back a bit more each day. Getting hellatiously tired at the moment. Wish I had a decent laptop.

I'm sorry to hear about this Allen - That accident sounds terrible. I hope you are wrong about never being able to sing publicly again :(

You need something to grab things with... IIRC, I've seen such contraptions.. I'll have to look again for it.

I'm glad you don't try given what you'd have to deal with :( Geez, reading about about the flu shot does not give me big hopes..

I'm fortunate, but hopeful that I can come back a bit more each day. Getting hellatiously tired at the moment. Wish I had a decent laptop.

Ok that's what you have to look at.. Take things one day at a time. Let your body heal. Don't overdo..

    There's a thing that I call "The Reacher"...I use it myself. I think I
got mine at Walgreens...but you can order it through the Dr. Leonard,
    Carol Wright, or other catalogs.

You have to know your limits. When I had to resign my job of
silkscreen printing in 2004, and file for disability, I had to face the
fact that "my body won't let me do it anymore". I've seen people at
square dance festivals "overdo it", and the paramedics had to be called.

When I'm at the computer, and start to get fatigued, it's time to go
take a nap. Usually a 60 or 90 minute siesta does me a world of good.
