Well, as we've ALL seen, the last few issues have been a mess as
I try to get this box back in some kind of decent "printing"
    shape.

Some of my scripts were corrupted it seems, and though I know
I've said it recently 'before', this time I DO hope I've got the
various problems worked out. Various rewrites have been done,
but I can't really know for sure if they are 'good' until the
    scripts are run.

Needless to say, it has just been a _little_ frustrating!

Last week I did a run of the scripts & it was totally hosed.

IIRC I did hatch out the file, but didn't print it in the echo..
or it could have been vice versa, not sure right now... and
with our U.S. Holiday of ThanksGiving coming up tomorrow ...eh
I can't really worry about that - yes, real life demands my
    attention.

As of last night, the apple and pumpkin pies, and pumpkin bread
are done, the ricotta cheese cake is done, my family's
traditional antipasto tray is done, and tonight, I'll put
together the cherry tomato and mozarella cheese with red onions
salad. Tomorrow I'll make the Turkey, sweetpotato casserole,
mashed potatoes/Gravy and greenbean casserole... If I'm
inspired and have the time, I'll throw together my favorite
Cannoli recipe, because as we all know you cannot ever have
    enough desserts! Lol

With all that said, I hope everyone in Fidonet has a great
Thanksgiving Day in the U.S. tomorrow (our friends up in Canada
    have already celebrated their Holiday).

    Janis,

various problems worked out. Various rewrites have been done,
but I can't really know for sure if they are 'good' until the

Batchfiles and scripts can be a blessing and a curse. I noted some
errors this morning, but everything looked OK. So, I'll have to dig a
    bit deeper later.

Needless to say, it has just been a _little_ frustrating!

Last week I did a run of the scripts & it was totally hosed.

I'm gonna wash that deal right out of the board. <G>

    Janis,

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving :) [...]

I ate at home alone...I didn't feel like fighting the traffic and the crowds...never mind finances have been tighter than a frog's butt under
    water. <G>

I had a deal of cornbread dressing, so I bought a pack of 12 dinner
rolls...2 dinners with turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, green beans,
carrots, and gravy...then 2 small circular banana cream pies. I forgot
about the cranberry sauce, and wasn't in the mood for pumpkin pie.

All of it was cooked in the microwave oven (except for the small pies...
I ate them cold), and washed down with lemonade. Since I had to give up
tea, caffeine, chocolate, candy, etc., as they were making my heart race,
I've had to make changes. At least the weight is holding steady...but,
I forgot to set the scales back 20 pounds the day before. <G>

I got 3 meals out of the cornbread dressing, and with the others, I
got 2 meals worth. But, I needed a good meal to take my medications with.

Well, it seems I had some more problems :( I couldn't get the system to reboot for a while yesterday, so I just shut off the box - woke up
today, and all seems well. Time will tell <g>

Time, or Life, or Newsweek, or US News And World Report. <G>

I just updated drivers on the laptop that has Windows 11 64-bit, and had
to reboot it. The BBS is on what was my late Mom's computer, and it still
is on Windows 10 32-bit. I've heard rumors that they're going to come out
with a version of Windows 11 for older systems...I'll believe that when I
see it. The one thing I didn't like about Windows 11 is that you can no
longer look inside folders on the taskbar. So, I figured out a workaround
by copying the main program executables to the taskbar instead. Then, when
I want to use a particular program, I just click on the icon.

I also have Real VNC across the LAN, so I can work on the BBS computer without goinginto what was my late parents bedroom. The only time I go back there, is if I need to reboot the computer for Windows updates, or shut
down for thunderstorms. With La Nina in place, and now in meteorological winter, we can get anything from tornado outbreaks to winter storms...
which we've had in the past. It's rather unnerving during a Christmas Eve candelight service in church, and you're singing Silent Night, then you
hear tornado sirens start going off. :P

    Yeah, wish one could Lol

Sounds like the lady who got rid of the pickled files (the dills, or
more appropriately, the DLL's (data link libraries), and she could not
figure out why her system quit working. I think she was the same blonde
that plugged the power strip into itself, and couldn't figure out why
nothing worked...never mind breaking the CD-ROM cup holder. <G>

Speaking of nothing working, I hear rumors of a new virus strain
called the Congressional Virus. But, if you get it, there's no need
to worry, as nothing will happen, so nothing gets done. <G>

Real, Life, Work, Play, are all nasty four letter words. <G>

    True :)

Got to go wash my mouth out now with a banana split. <G>

Now, I have to wash off the keyboard for all the salivational drooling. :P

    haha ;)

    I'll send you the bill <j/k>. <G>

And, STRESSED spelled backwards is DESSERTS!! <G>

I'll have to remember that one <g>

I mentioned that at the Eye Surgery Center last month...when the nurse quipped "we tend to stress people out". When I said that, she said "that
    sounds just heavenly". <G>

I was having fogged night vision, and they determined I needed Yag Laser Surgery. That is common after having cataract surgery. I originally had
that done 11 years ago, which improved the visual acuity from 20/2000 to 20/20. The Yag Laser Surgery was done on the left eye a few months after
the surgery...now, it was the right eye's turn. Preliminary indications
are that it went well, as I don't see a rainbow halo around the sun
reflecting off of vehicles ahead of me. I have not yet tried driving at
night, but I have a pair of yellow night glasses that I hope will solve
the problem. The only time I go out after dark is for square dancing, or
    an emergency situation.

Also at the eye clinic, they check one's vital signs, and the eye pressure
in the eye that will have cataract, LASIK, or Yag Laser Surgery. The nurses
had said to focus at a spot on the wall...but in some cases, there was
another patient across from them. When the nurse asked one of the other patients to hold up a finger, I quipped "You better specify which finger
to hold up!!"...it brought the house down in laughter. <G>

They get first dibs at the food on our Columbus Day...so we get the leftovers. But, remember...even turkeys are thankful for one thing: Vegetarians. <G>

    Yep :)

I saw 2 other turkey memes of note. One had a turkey looking straight
at you, and asking "Do you love me just for my breasts??" <G>.

The other one had a turkey munching on a drumstick of a turkey that
just came out of the oven (he himself has a peg-leg), and he says "OMG!!
    I *AM* Delicious!!" <G>.

But, this time of year, DIET is a 4 letter excuse to cheat...or an
acronym for "Did I Eat That??". <G>
