Robert Preston. I think both of them are dead and gone now.

    Janis,

He unlocks the door, turns the knob, and behind that door he is
amazed to find the source of that strange sound.

But he can't tell you what it is because you're not a monk.

That's like the monks at the monsatery at meal time. In the morning,
they have to patiently stand until the head monk (the e-monk) arrives,
and chants "Good Morning". The group replies in kind, and all sit down
    to breakfast.

In the evening, it's the same for dinner.

One day, a new monk had arrived, and got the times of day confused at breakfast. When everyone else had chanted "Good Morning", the new one
    intoned "Good Evening".

You could've heard a pin drop!!

No one said a word, until the e-Monk noted "Someone Chanted Evening".

I am looking into restoring dial-up and fax access to the BBS. It'll
cost a good bit, but I need a dial-out line in case of an emergency.
During bad weather, the internet and cell towers are the first to go
    down.

POTS access is in my plans also. Not cheap (north of $50/month) but eh, I've gotten questions locally about dial-up access...

    Hi, Sean...

I've heard that most, if not all of the analog lines are being
converted to VoIP (like what MagicJack and Xfinity have already). If
that would work for dial-up, I'd keep it...but if all the analog lines
are being ended, that might mean the end for dial-up...yet, a lot of
    places still use fax lines.

But, I've heard various stories on whether this VoIP for dial-up is
actually worth it. Yet, the crappy way that AT&T treated my Mom last
year, I'm leary about doing it.
