• Node request

From The Leprechaun@1:124/5014.2 to All on Tue Mar 2 12:52:59 2021
I'd like to start the process to request a node address. I have read through Policy 4 numerous times, I know who my network coordinator is and am prepared to send a netmail out, but wanted to make sure there was nothing else we need to do these days.

    Thanks,
    Andy

    ... I am firm. You're stubborn. He's pigheaded.

Not sure why this is posted in the FD echo? If you know who your NC is, then you typically send a Crash/direct Netmail to him. This demonstrates that you have a working system online. Once you obtain an address you typically remain connected to your NC to receive Netmail... but you are usually free to get your Fido feed from anyone.

I realized that I was in the wrong message area; I didn't realize where I was. I went ahead and deleted the original post. Thanks for the info, though.

where I was. I went ahead and deleted the original post.

FWIW: deleting a message in FTN does not delete it on any other systems... FTN does not have a global deletion capability like newsgroups have... once a message is posted, scanned out to other systems, and transmitted, it is
out there in the ether until purged from those other systems' message bases...
