Wondering, is there a way to say, use the DOS (or OS/2) version of Frodo, and have it load up your linux BBS?

I don't know.... Digital Man wrote a program that will answer the phone... POTS... and send you to the BBS via telnet... It can be called From a
mailer... and I guess pass you to a telnet BBS.

I read some time ago Robert Wolfe compiled this program to an OS/2 version. Anyway... it "Should" work... it does work as a stand alone

Yup, it's called SEXPOTS. I used it to allow dial-up access to Mystic.

I'm going to have to pull at his coat tails and see. As far as I know there's only one mailer for linux (BinkD). I've downloaded and kinda set up SOME things for IFMAIL, but it's really REALLY 'rough'.

I'm not fully sure what your goal is.... R U running Synchronet?? Synchronet has a Java app that polls to get mail called binkit.

More is coming. I heard D'Bridge is getting re-wrtiten in Java and will
work on any platform, it has a BinkD section to it already. you might want
to look into that program to see if there is any one running this mailer in Linux.

    Anyway, good luck!!!!

I'm looking for another mailer thank binkd for linux to use for another BBS that I'm setting up. I was KINDA thinking of going with ifmail but setting it up it nothing like setting up bink(D)(P). looks A LOT tougher

    Anyway, good luck!!!!

    Thanks! I need it! :)

Ummmm, I'm not the best guy to guide you on Linux matters... Can I ask a question...? Is your goal just to send FidoNET Style Mail and or files between systems, or do you want a dial up node to call out to get mail as needed through a POTS line.

Currently, the idea of BBSes passing mail via dial up maybe a thing of the past, just saying.... Everyone is on the Internet Train and there are fewer
and fewer active people on POTS lines. Now in 2020 programmers cannot make enough money to support themselves making BBS software ... Anyway... here we are 2020 and there is no real solution for Dial up mailers written for Linux. FROM WHAT I CAN SEE..... Might be a way to scab things together... don't
    know.

You mentioned FMail as a mail tosser. I have used this tosser as a mail
tosser in windows and DOS. I heard it has a Linux flavor and even better
it's still under development... it also works well with Bink (P)(D), Bink
comes in a Linux flavor so problem solved....

BTW, what BBS package are you trying to run?
