do you have a FREQ going to that system, too?

maybe they're out of or below their minimum drive space?

I'm guessing disk space issues / disk write issues.

    Yep.

Does Frodo/DOS have problems if there are huge amount of free disk
    space?

possibly, if it is more than 2Gig... what OS are they running their DOS emulator(??) on? how much free drive space do they have?

on our OS/2 installation(s) we have run 2gbfix which intercepts the available free space call and forces it to 2Gig IF the free space call returns more than 2Gig... we need this for quite a few old DOS programs... it didn't help with allfix but we found another way to deal with that...

Yeah, I found that running 2gbfix kills the VX00.SYS driver that comes in SIO2K
as well as SIO 1.60d on my virtualized ArcaOS system. Hence, the reason I run
the OS/2 native version of FrontDoor and it works just fine.

that's strange... i've not seen that on eCS or Warp but i have seen binkd and allfix tie each other up... that was with the EMX flavor of binkd, IIRC... i switched to another native compiled flavor of binkd and don't have those problems any more... the problem was exhibited as a freeze in both programs... if i exited one, the other one resumed processing...

Hence, the reason I run the OS/2 native version of FrontDoor and it
    works just fine.

every once in a while, i'll fire up the native FD/2 and let it run for a while... it still loads my DOS RA in similar fashion as the DOS FD does but the
script flow is a little different... but i'm not one to do things the normal way anyway... eg: i process dobbs.bat and dobbs.cmd as a data file ;)

Yeah, it seems that it does not want to play nicely with VX00.SYS (it being 2gbfix) in a DOS window as it seems to always overwrite the memory allocated for it whenever it is loaded after vx00.sys is.

that's weird... my autoexec.bat is where i load where i loadhigh 2gbfix... the objects for each of my BBS nodes all load VX00.SYS with size=0...

    eg:
    SET DOS_DEVICE=SIZE=0 C:\TCPIP\BIN\VDOSTCP.SYS,SIZE=0 C:\OS2\MDOS\ANSI.SYS,SIZE=0 C:\SIO\VX00.SYS

i'm also using SIO 1.60 (registered)...

as i understand it, the object gets created so my VX00.SYS is loaded... then the specified autoexec script is run which loadhigh of both ostsr and 2gbfix...
ostsr converts DESQview time slices to OS/2 time slices...

    eg:
SET (a whole bunch of EVs)
    LOADHIGH x:\ostsr.com 2
    LOADHIGH x:\2gbfix.com
    (load 4DOS aliases)
    SET (a few more things)
