    Hector,

I uploaded a picture and am able to view it in the new area as on the beta site, but when I uploaded a MP3 file all I see is if I want to download it, no player option.

I checked wc config to see if there was a security option, even the files setup but cannot see where it might be a choice.

Ok, there are some special instructions here. Let me put it together and
    get back to you later.

    Ok Jerry,

I'm attaching this here for now, so anyone else can get it too. But
when its all said and done, it will be posted on the BBS.

    1) Save the attached zip file, WCFLASH4521.ZIP in your \wc6 folder
(or whereever you have wildcat installed)

    2) type

    unzip -o wcflash4521

    3) Accessing the MP3 files

The following will most likely change, but the issue is that you need to
make the FILE AREA where you have your MP3 file a public file areas.

There are two ways to do this:

    3a) Easiest:

Change the file path for the file area to HTTP\PUBLIC\STM.

It has to be called STM (for stream) as that is what wcFLASH is
    looking for at the moment.

    3b) Easy but more work:

Keep the file area and use a JUNCTION to STM.

A junction is a "alias" to another folder. Junctions work on
2000/XP/2003. Download the utility JUNCTION.ZIP from the BBS.
    (search for JUNCTION)

Unzip the JUNCTION.EXE file and do this:

    CD WC6\HTTP\PUBLIC
    JUNCTION STM C:\WC6\FILES\MYMUSIC

Where C:\WC6\FILES\MYMUSIC is an example of your file area path.

This will create a directory called STM. It is really a fake directory
because it is really pointing to the C:\WC6\FILES\MYMUSIC folder

    You should all setup now.

If the JUNCTION utility doesn't work on your OS, then use the easier 3a method.

    Let me know

    Jerry,

    Following up my instructions.........

Never mind step 3. I figure out how to avoid the STM folder and use the
file areas directly. The problem was that wcFLASH sound manager was
having trouble with odd characters in the upload file name.

But I just got it to work, in the file:

    http\public\wcflash\template\file_jsamp_bar.htm

around line #78, you will see:

    <li><a href="/public/stm/@FILE.NAME@">@FILE.DESCRIPTION@</a></li>

    change this to:

    <li><a href="/file/area@FILE.AREANUMBER@/@FILE.NAME@">
    @FILE.DESCRIPTION@</a></li>

and now it should WORK and also take into account any statistics
download restrictions which is where we wanted to go with this. But
right now, there will be no error other than it won't play if the user
can't download the MP3 file because he ran out of limits. I'll make
    that pop something.

However, if you want the music to be PUBLIC (no limits), then go ahead
and follow step 3 with the public STM folder.
