I'm not afraid to use the oven a lot these days. Winter has arrived.
Yesterday it was +8oC with wind gusts up to 10 m/s, so a wind chill
of +2oC. Also an inch of snow and reduced visibility from blowing snow.

Now highs are still running in the low +10oC for the daytime, with night time lows just below 5oC. What is surprising to me is that even though it is 13oC outside right now, our inside temperature is 20oC with no heat on. I strongly suspect that is a result of autobus insulation. We have western facing window that get the afternoon sun.

I have pies: apple, pumpkin abd cheesecakes. We gave away 1 and kept 2. His cosysop hosted the BBS dinner this time around and we took 1 pie, half of each kind.

We cannot have all the BBS visit at one time in our forest.

Combine margarine, onion, garlic, and 2 tablespoons broth in microwave oven. Cook over medium power, stirring frequently, until onion is soft, 5 or 6 minutes. If liquid begins to evaporate, add a bit more broth.

Stir in cumin, coriander and allspice. Add remaining broth, apricots, chiles and tomato. Stir to mix well. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 10 minutes, or until flavors are well-blended. Stir in turkey and cook an additional 5 minutes.

Serve over rice, garnished with apricot strips, if desired.
