AFAIC it makes sense to capitalize acronyms such as "IMHO"
and "OK"
... particularly in message areas where not all readers are native speakers of English. Since the majority of desk dictionaries omit
almost anything spelled with capital letters, this practice signals to others that if they're not sure of the meaning they may have to search
the Internet or ask the author.... :-)
