  • New Echo?

    Greetings All!


    How does one start, or request a new echo? Was hoping to find one where VM or esxi type discussions could happen.

    You just create an echo area and connect with whoever is interested. That's
    how echoes start.

    If you want the area to be distributed on the backbone and listed in the backbone.na file you need to add the area to the ELIST and then request the area be carried on the backbone in the Z1_BACKBONE area.

    I don't know of an area like that. You'll either need to create and add a
    new area or find an existing area where that would be on topic. I can think
    of a few areas..

    COFFEE_KLATSCH
    FIDO_SYSOP
    FN_SYSOP
    SYSOP

    And there are likely others too but I'm thinking those areas are good
    targets.

    it is... things might be a little slow, right now, but that is how echos get on the backbone...

    one thing to remember, too, is that one doesn't have to have their echo on the backbone... they can keep it in private distribution and advertise it in the echo advertisement area from time to time if they want to... having
    an echo on the backone doesn't guarantee wider distribution... only the possibility of that...
