I recently upgraded from windows 7 to windows 8 and found a few glitches
so I decided a fresh install could be worth while.

Got my new cd , installed into new directory and got the following

    wcsetup wcdoornt.dll

    hkey_local_nachine\system\currentcontrolset\control\virtualdevicedrivers registry key

checked registry and didn't find it

    What did it say?

WCDOORNT.DLL is installed by wcSETUP, but also when you go into DOOR
SETUP in wcconfig and also the standalone utility:

    CheckWcDOORNT.exe

    Wildcat! v6.2.452.1 wcDoorNT install/remove utility
    CheckWcDoorNT <option>

    Options:
    /install check and/or install the wcdoornt.dll file
    /remove remove the wcdoornt.dll file
/check check only wcdoornt.dll file, do not install

    Hello Scott

Well being I'm not a software engineer I don't really know what Microsoft changed with Win 7, 8 or Windows Server 2008 32 bit and doors not working,
but I can tell you that I have been running Windows Server R2 64 bit with WinXP running on top of it through Oracle VM virtualbox for about four
    months without a glitch.

For that matter I'm shocked at how well my doors run now with this configuration.

Wound up having to reinstall the OS on the server, to fix the problem with
the web server not being able to be enabled.

the only big problem I have right now, besides avg reporting a virus on
the installation cd, is that wcnavigator will not run on windows 7 or 8 64 bit.

avg is triggered when wconline loads, with a fault in wcsrvmsg.dll
    triggering the virus protection.

is that wcnavigator will not run on windows 7 or 8 64 bit.

wcNav is a 16-bit application which will not run on a 64 bit OS

avg is triggered when wconline loads, with a fault in wcsrvmsg.dll

This has been a known fault for over a year. AVG have been informed and
    failed to address the issue.

Option 1: Dump AVG for Microsoft Security Essentials
Option 2: Be prepared to add exceptions to AVG for virtually every EXE
which overtime will be reported as infected.

    Hello Scott

As for wcNav you have to have a 32 bit OS to run wcNav One pickup a cheap computer laptop/desktop or run Oracle VM Virtual Box with a 32 bit OS like Windows XP or Windows 7 32 bit.

Laughing I know what your talking about I was starting to feel I was the
only one that uses wcNav. I fell in love with it from day one!

avg is triggered when wconline loads, with a fault in wcsrvmsg.dll

    triggering the virus protection.

As far as AVG just put the wc5 or wc6 fold in folder/virus ignore list or maybe with AVG exclude list I tested the cd and the fold myself and didn't have any flags with Avast or Norton Internet Security. Or you could change Anti Virus programs to one that is a little more friendly. But it is not
    the file.

Look over my site on running Oracle if you like.
